Job Description



Reporting to the Intake Manager and the Director of Protection, the Intake Screener will receive and process all intake calls as they come in.  In collaboration with the Intake and Child Protection Director; The Intake Screener will assess the calls for urgency prior to directing them to the appropriate area. The Intake Screener will provide Intake Investigation Training as required. This position collaborates with the Program Manager and the Family Service Workers on an investigative plan and upon an integrated assessment, upon reviewing the investigative results will enter the results into the Child Protection CMS Data Base. This position will ensure the Intake meets the Child Protection Standards. This position performs intake processes and accurately records documentation requirements according to YTCCFS Inc. policies, procedures and protocols as well as the Provincial Child Abuse Protocol with the use of SDM standards

Other duties include working on the data base to transfer all historical intakes from the database to CMS.




  • Four (4) year University undergraduate degree in a related discipline and twelve (12) months direct child protection services experience. OR
  • Certificate in Social Work (CSW or CISW) and twenty-four (24) months direct child protection services experience. OR
  • Bachelor of Social Work (BSW or BISW).
  • Valid Saskatchewan Driver’s License.
  • Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Experience in front-line service delivery of First Nation Child and Family Services.
  • Working experience in Child Welfare Frontline Case Management systems and procedures.
  • Strong commitment to helping First Nations children and their families by providing services in ways that respects First nations cultural and spiritual practices.
  • Commitment to providing service in the context of extended family and community involvement.
  • Must sign an Oath of Confidentiality.
  • Must provide a clean driver’s abstract and have access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Able to work some evenings and weekends.


Salary is negotiable according to YTCCFS Inc. salary grid. Candidates selected for an interview are required to provide proof of education upon attending the interview.
