Job Description

The Yorkton Tribal Council Child and Family Services (YTCCFS) Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic dedicated individual to fill the position of Land Based Cultural Service Provider for Keeping Our Children Home project located on Cowessess First Nation.



Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the primary role for the Land Based Cultural Service Provider is a leadership role in the approved coordination and delivery of land based cultural events, education, in-house programs and enhance community relations. 

The Cultural Service Provider will be the communication link between the referring organization, Family, Education, Wellness and other Agencies including on and off reserve programs. The Cultural Service Provider will maintain and provide written quarterly conference reports on each client.


  • BISW, BSW or a degree in a related discipline.
  • A combination of a Diploma in a related discipline plus a minimum of 5 years of experience may be considered.


  • Work in collaboration with the community enhancement programs and services to assess and identify developmental areas of need and the ability to refer and engage the appropriate resources.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and posses a reliable vehicle.
  • Must be willing to upgrade skills when time and funding permits.
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to sign an “Oath of Confidentiality” and a Non-disclosure Agreement.
  • Excellent Computer Skills with a preference to Data Base knowledge.
  • Knowledge of First Nations Beliefs, values, languages, customs and perspectives
  • First Nation’s Group home standards, practices, policies and procedures in a First Nation’s setting.
  • Knowledge of Indian Child and Family Services (ICFS), Ministry of Social Services (MSS), and Indigenous Services Canada
  • Knowledge of Saskatchewan Child Welfare Act including Child Welfare Policies and Procedures and the Customary Standards of Care.
  • Demonstrated Knowledge of First Nations History from Colonization to Present Day, this includes and is not limited to; emotional, physical, and spiritual effects related to the colonization.

Salary is based on education and experience, and in accordance to the YTCCFS Inc. salary grid.
