Capilano University (CapU) is well known for providing a strong academic foundation as well as being committed to developing new and innovative programs positioned for the future. Programming at the university, through its five Faculties include preparatory courses, arts and sciences, business and management studies, creative and applied arts, health and human development, tourism, kinesiology, legal studies, public administration, plus a suite of important services in support of student learning and success. Credentials awarded include bachelor’s degrees, associate degrees, post-baccalaureate diplomas, graduate diplomas, certificates, and citations.

Capilano University is named after Chief Joe Capilano, an important leader of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nation of the Coast Salish Peoples. The University respectfully acknowledges that campuses and learning locations are located on the unceded territories of the LíỈwat, xʷməθkʷəỷəm (Musqueam), shíshálh (Sechelt), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and SəỈílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

Our largest campus in North Vancouver is only 20 minutes from downtown Vancouver. It is nestled in the forest on the slopes of the North Shore mountains, and the beauty of the campus and the high quality of education attract students from around the world. CapU also has campuses in Sechelt, serving the Sunshine Coast, as well as the newly announced Squamish campus serving the Sea-to Sky Corridor. In partnership with the Líl̓wat Nation, CapU offers programming with Líl̓wat members and other Indigenous peoples through the Ts̓zil Learning Centre in Mount Currie. CapU Lonsdale is a learning location that houses continuing studies and a range of courses centered in place-based and community-engaged learning given its location in the North Vancouver Shipyards district.

CapU enrolled approximately 9,200 students in the 2022/2023 year, nearly 3,200 of them international students. At CapU, we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment that embraces diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and thoughts, creating a student experience marked by a deep sense of belonging and connection to the university community. The emphasis on individual attention positively impacts student achievements, fostering a learning environment where students come first.
